Environmental Preservation Activities

Approach to Environmental Preservation Activities

We will voluntarily and proactively address environmental issues based on our "Environmental Policy (Basic Principles and Guidelines for Action)," recognizing that the environmental impact caused by our business activities affects the global environment and that the global environment is important for the survival of the company and its activities.

Contribution to Local Communities

The NIPPN Group contributes to local communities. We cooperate in the "Chiyoda-ku Collective Cleanup Day" held twice a year by Chiyoda-ku (Tokyo), where our head office is located, and our employees participate in the "Sanno Festival" held every two years as mikoshi (portable shrine) carriers. By participating in local events at our Group's business sites other than the head office, we not only contribute to the local community, but also actively communicate with local residents. (Some activities may have been changed due to COVID-19.)

So they made a donation to the Chiba Environment Restoration Fund and received a certificate of appreciation from the committee.

Use of Palm Oil

We use vegetable oils and fats blended with palm oil in a variety of products. When purchasing oil and fat materials, we take into account the RSPO* affiliation status of the supplier. We also participate in the Study Group on Green Purchasing of Palm Oil of the Green Purchasing Network (GPN) , in order to obtain information on palm oil. In addition, we purchase other raw materials and materials in accordance with our Purchasing Policy.

*RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) aims to promote sustainable palm oil production and use through the development of globally trusted certification standards and stakeholder participation.
